MMIWG Awareness:

MMIWG stands for "Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women & Girls." It refers to the national and international crisis of violence against Indigenous women, girls, and Two-Spirit people.

MMIWG involves:

  • Disproportionate rates of violence

  • Systemic neglect and racism

  • Intergenerational trauma

Our Mission:

We collectively strive to empower our people to honour our health through active participation in our holistic programs and community-rooted services.  Through a collaborative approach, we are dedicated to preserving our culture and enriching the lives of those we serve.

May Health Theme:

May is Lupus Awareness Month, a vital time to amplify understanding, support, and action around lupus - a chronic autoimmune disease in which the immune system, designed to protect the body from infections, mistakenly attacks healthy tissues and organs.  This abnormal immune response causes inflammation that can affect many parts of the body, including the skin, joints, kidneys, heart, lungs, brain, and blood cells.
